Five Star started 11/2009 by Rene, now, his son Ryan has joined him in running the shop and his daughter, Tanya works part time in the office. 

Rene was born and raised in Haiti.  He made a few trips visiting the USA and finally moved to the USA in his early 20's.  He started by working at his brother and cousin's shop in New York city.  There he started out sweeping the floor, cleaning the waiting room and taking out the trash. As he watched the others, he told his brother that he could take out a transmission to which his brother was shocked and didn't believe him but told him to try.  He did it successfully and quickly to everyone's amazement.  A few years later, Rene and his small family relocated to Maryland where he worked for AAMCO for a few years before striking out on his own.  Five Star Transmission was established in November 2009.
